Two prizes were awarded during our annual meeting 2003 (see also programme, in Dutch). Lennart Weltje (TUD) received the "KNCV Prijs Milieuchemie (en -technologie)" for his Ph.D. thesis "Bioavailability of lanthanides to freshwater organisms - speciation, accumulation and toxicity". The prize for the best M.Sc. thesis went to Micaela Damsten (VU), for "Metabolism and estrogenicity of di-halogenated biphenyls".
